SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz Police Department is actively investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, August 8, 2025, in the vicinity of the 400 block of Frederick Street between the hours of 1:30 AM and 6:30 AM.
The suspect is described as a white male adult, mid to late 20s, thin build, approximately 5’8 to 5’9 tall. A sketch of the suspect, developed in collaboration with the survivor, is being released to the public today.
The Santa Cruz Police Department has increased patrols in the area and urges residents to remain alert, especially in low-visibility or secluded areas. Anyone with information about suspicious or illegal activity is encouraged to call 9-1-1 immediately. Community assistance can play a vital role in solving this case, and we ask anyone who recognizes the suspect from the sketch or who may have relevant information to contact the Santa Cruz Police Department.
