Stabbing In The Beach Area

Officers responded to the area of Leibrandt and Raymond St. for a large fight.  When officers arrived, all parties involved had fled the area.  Officers received reports from witnesses a gold colored Honda had left the area, severely damaged, and one of the passengers was covered in blood.  During the investigation officers located an area on Raymond Street with blood in the roadway.  A short time later the occupants in the Honda pulled into a gas station in the City of Capitola requesting medical assistance. The Honda had sustained broken windows and flat tires.

When EMS arrived with the Capitola Police both occupants were transported to Dominican Hospital. One of the occupants was treated for a stab wound to the leg and torso. The other occupant had been struck by a baseball bat, and was treated for a contusion to the head and a loss of teeth. At this time the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

At this time it appears all involved parties are affiliated with criminal street gangs. There are limited descriptions regarding the others involved in the attack. Currently The Santa Cruz Police Investigations and the County’s Gang Task Force are following up on the case.
