Waived Fee Concurrent Enrollment for High School Students
Effective spring semester, Cabrillo College and the Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) have launched a joint initiative that provides high school students across Santa Cruz County concurrent enrollment at Cabrillo College Unknownwith waived enrollment fees. This innovative initiative allows high school students countywide to begin taking college courses at a significantly reduced cost.
“We are excited to be able to offer the waiver of enrollment fees to encourage high school students to take advantage of this educational opportunity,” said Dennis Bailey-Fougnier, Cabrillo Vice President of Student Services. “All of these initiatives are designed to make it as easy as possible for our county’s students to attend Cabrillo College.”
The pilot program was initiated at Cabrillo’s Watsonville Center with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, however all high school students across the county who qualify for the concurrent enrollment program will be eligible to have their enrollment fees waived.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for all of our concurrent students to take advantage of our local community college, Cabrillo,” said Ruschele Viotti, Watsonville High School Counselor. “This will encourage more students to take classes at Cabrillo – thank you, Cabrillo.”
Interested high school students need to complete and submit a Concurrent Enrollment Form and bring it in to Cabrillo’s Admissions and Records Office at either the Aptos or Watsonville campus locations. For additional information about Concurrent Enrollment and to download the Concurrent Enrollment Form, please visit the Admissions and Records page on Cabrillo’s website, at http://www.cabrillo.edu/services/outreach/concurrent.html.
