The Way We Worked – A Special Exhibition

The San Lorenzo Valley Museum Sunday March 9 – April 12, 2014

The Way We Worked, adapted from the original exhibition developed by the National Archives, explores how work became such a central element in American culture by tracing the many changes that affected the workforce and work environments over the past 150 years. The exhibition draws from the Archives’ rich collections to tell this compelling story. The exhibition invites visitors to hear workers tell their own stories, or view films of various industries. Interactive components convey the experiences of multiple generations of families involved in the same industry.

We invite You to tell us Your story. Tell us what it has been like to work here in the Valley. Email your story to slvmcollections@sbcglobal.net or drop off your Photographs or Clippings at the Museum so we can scan and return them to you, along with the digital files.

The Way We Worked is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and, in California, Exhibit Envoy. Support for Museum on Main Street has been provided by the United States Congress.
