$3,500 and 700 Pairs of Socks Donated For Homeless Patients at Dominican
The funds and socks were raised by Good Shepherd families as a part of the annual Great Kindness Challenge, which works to inspire a culture of kindness in school children across the world.
The socks were donated to the Dominican Emergency Room where new socks are the #1 most needed item for homeless patients leaving the hospital. Together with socks also donated by Dominican employees, the hospital will receive more than 1,700 pairs of new socks.
The donation of $3,500 will bolster the Dominican Hospital Foundation Patient Support Fund, which enables purchase of urgent patient resources, such as wheelchairs, when the need arises and patients do not have the money to purchase supplies themselves.
