SANTA CRUZ COUNTY –A project to construct retaining walls, upgrade guardrail, crash cushion and end treatment on a six-mile section of Hwy. 17 will begin next Sunday, June 23 near Scotts Valley at various locations from Santa’s Village Road to the Santa Clara County Line.
Roadwork consists of alternating lane closures in both directions both during the day and at night. 10-15 minute delays expected during lane closures. The project is expected to complete in the fall 2014, weather permitting.
The contractor for this $8.2 million project is Pavex Construction Division from San Jose, CA.
As always, Caltrans asks for the cooperation of motorists to drive carefully along the Highway 17 corridor.
