Annual St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef Dinner & Irish Fest

The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fest begins Saturday, March 7 at 6 p.m. with a no-host bar & appetizers at the Markey Community Center, Resurrection Catholic Church 7600 Soquel Dr., Aptos.

Dinner serving starts at 6:30 p.m. with Corned Beef & Cabbage, handmade Irish Soda Bread & Dessert prepared by award winning Master Chef and Author, Adrienne Saldivar-Meier.

Advance Dinner tickets $30, at the door $35 – Coffee and tea included. Beer, wine, sodas and bottled water available at additional charge.

Advance tickets for Children under 10, $10.00, at the door $12 – includes children’s meal of hot dogs & chips.

Entertainment will feature an evening of music by “Paddy and the Wild Irish Roses” with the “Spirit of Salinas” Irish Step Dancing Group performing at 7:15 p.m.

Authentic, delicious Irish soda bread made by the Knights of Columbus offered for a goodwill donation following masses on Feb.14-15, 21-22 and Feb. 28-Mar 1. Also to be served at the St. Patrick’s Day dinner and to take home after the event if available.


Proceeds to benefit the Michael Lucas Fund and the Resurrection Parish Assistance Ministry.

Chef Adrienne Saldivar Meier produces the Central Coast’s “SimplyFresh” healthy cooking TV segments and is the host. She has also developed numerous recipes for many of the top agricultural growers in the Nation. Her credits also include food writing and food photography for California Coast Parent Magazine as well as recipes and food photography for cookbooks for a variety of growers. Adrienne also conducts healthy eating cooking demonstrations and lectures all over the nation profiling fresh produce.

Her most rewarding work is providing educational healthy cooking instruction for schools, health institutions, migrant families and after school programs through the HELP Program (Healthy Eating Lifestyle Principles). Because of her work, she was invited to the White House to participate in the First Lady’s “Chefs Move to School” Program, a call to action to aid in the fight against childhood obesity.

Adrienne conducts cooking instruction in her home overlooking Monterey Bay and offers cooking retreats in her Pacific Northwest log lodge close to Spokane Washington.

Her first self-published cookbook is “Lettuce Be the Change” with a release date in the late spring of 2012.
