Aptos Creek Breaks Through… Again

Nancy Kael, resident of Aptos took these photos Sunday, July21 of Aptos Creek having its own way in breaking through and flowing across Rio del Mar State Beach to the bay. Local residents and visitors see such breakthroughs as a good thing as it prevents Aptos Creek from forming a smelly, stagnant pond on the beach containing bacteria generated from bird waste and other contaminants. There was no word as to whether the creek had human help in its advance to the ocean as it did on July 4.
