Bay Fed Times Publishing Group Inc tpgonlinedaily.comBay Federal Credit Union raised $12,426 in generous donations from members and employees during its Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising drive in May. The Credit Union was able to give a total of $22,426 to the non-profit organization, thanks to a philanthropic award that doubled donations up to $10,000.

Bay Federal received matching funds through CO-OP Financial Services’ Miracle Match program for the Credit Union’s creative fundraising methods. Ways in which Bay Federal raised funds included: bicycle raffles, a “coin wars” competition to collect pocket change at the Credit Union’s corporate offices, and a pie-in-the-face challenge. The Credit Union surpassed the amount it raised last year by more than $500.

The funds will stay at the local level, benefitting the nearest of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation regularly serves sick, injured, and special needs children in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito counties.

“The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program is an outstanding program providing aid and comfort to children and their families in a time of need,” said Carrie Birkhofer, President and CEO of Bay Federal. “As a local credit union, Bay Federal is committed to our community and the people who live here, which is why I am incredibly proud of our team members’ dedication to this cause.”
