Kristen Petersen and Margaux Keiser will be sworn in to serve four-year terms on the Capitola City Council during a virtual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10.
Petersen, the top vote-getter with 3,627 votes, was elected to a second term. Keiser, with 2,399 votes, won her first bid for office, succeeding Ed Bottorff, who was termed out.
With Keiser joining Petersen and Vice Mayor Yvette Brooks, women hold a majority of the five seats on the council.
As a new member of the council, Keiser will be able to make an appointment to the Planning Commission, the Arts & Cultural Commission and other city advisory committees.
