She said it was a bit of culture shock, moving to Ben Lomond from Huntington Beach, but she quickly fell in love with the area and has remained that way.

“There’s a lot to like,” Rebottaro said while sitting at her desk in her Scotts Valley office recently. “I really love the redwoods, the oaks; I love the fact we have the beach, the mountains — we have everything here. I love that I can ride my bike to and from work and all around. And I love the community.”

Rebottaro’s love also extends to her job as a financial advisor at Edward Jones, where she gets to help her neighbors, friends and fellow community members achieve their life’s financial goals.

“My passion is helping people to help their children and grandchildren to get through college; to retire with dignity, and to efficiently pass their wealth on to the next generation,” she said.

Rebottaro joined Edward Jones in 2010 after spending six years with another firm. She said, like the move from Southern California, it was a big change.

“Edward Jones is a very client-centered firm, focusing on the individual investor, focusing on people like you and me; We’re not looking for elephants, we’re focused on helping people in the neighborhood achieve their long-term financial goals,” she said. “We’re not pulled in a lot of different directions — it’s just us and them.”

And that works best for Rebottaro, a mother of four who describes herself as a “Mayberry kind of girl,” despite playing in the local rock band Back To Nowhere. Rebottaro is the band’s lead singer. The group plays at the Crows Nest, Henflings and other local venues, but it’s only a hobby, said Rebottaro.

“I call us a wedding singer band. We do some original songs, but we have some very recognizable rock songs: the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Lady Gaga, Black Keys, a lot of stuff,” she said. “We volunteer to play to help raise money for Scotts Valley schools; we’ve played Little League benefits, none of us are quitting our day jobs.”

And that’s good news for her community as residents try to sort out where the best investments are for the future. Rebottaro said she loves to live and work here, helping her clients find success.

“Scotts Valley is a very community-oriented town filled with people who come together and really care about each other. I feel like this community really takes an interest in the kids, the schools, everything about the town,” she said. “I love it here and love what I do.”
