Burglary Call on Robin Drive in Aptos
October 13

Early this morning just before 6:00 a.m. our deputies received a call of a burglary in progress of an occupied home on Robin Drive in Aptos. The resident heard a noise inside the house after the house alarm went off. The resident then saw a vehicle leaving their driveway with the lights off. They were unable to get a vehicle description.

A number of sheriff patrol units responded to the neighborhood, and did an extensive search, but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspect. It was determined at the time that no property was taken from the residence.

We want to remind everyone to notify us if you observe any suspicious vehicles or persons in your neighborhoods.

“Priceless”

Yesterday Deputy Spark met Noah, a 6th grader, who reported his cell phone stolen. Noah had left his phone on a bench during cross country practice and later came back to find it gone. Noah and his father were able to use a Find My Phone app and tracked it to a house in the Live Oak area.

Deputy Spark went to the house where the cell phone was pinging and spoke with the homeowner. Turns out, the homeowner was an employee at the middle school and found the cell phone late that evening, but was unable to find its owner. The homeowner had planned on turning in the cell phone to the office the next day, but was happy to give it to Deputy Spark to return to Noah. Noah was beyond excited that Deputy Spark was able to find and return his phone.
