Cancellation Effects Select Areas
San Lorenzo Valley Water District customers on Blue Ridge Drive, including Bar King Road, Meadow Drive, Buena Vista Avenue and Fairview Road, are the most recent areas to be allowed to use their water, being given the okay as of Sept. 15.
On Sept. 1, SLVWD cancelled the “do not drink-do not boil” order for the Bennett Springs neighborhood in Felton including Featherston Way, Ley Road, Jenny Way, and Alta Via and Monan Way in Brookdale.
Customers in these areas may resume using tap water for drinking, cooking and all other normal uses.
On Sept. 7, the do-not-drink order was cancelled for the three large areas:
- Hwy 9 corridor from the Hwy 9 and Alta Via intersection and north, including the town of Brookdale, including Irwin Way, downtown Boulder Creek until the Hwy 236/Redwood Avenue, Fairview Avenue, Highland Drive, most of Rebecca Drive, Nina Drive and Elsie Mae Avenue.
- Bear Creek Road corridor, including Huckleberry Drive, West Road, Ralston Ridge Drive, Bear Creek Estates, and side streets off of Bear Creek Road.
- The Hwy 9 corridor north of Boulder Creek, including Two Bar Rosd, The Redwood Grove and Wildwood areas, Mitchell Drive, The Ramona Woods area, the San Lorenzo Woods area, the San Lorenzo Park area including Sylvan Way.
The do-not-drink notice had been posted Aug. 29 due to the CZU lightning fire, which is 97 percent contained.
The State Water Resources Control Board approved cancellation of the notices based on water quality samples collected over the past week and the water district’s understanding of its water system operations during the fire.
Water testing will continue.
Areas remain under the “Do Not Drink-Do Not Boil” notice because they are either still depressurized or not enough samples have yet been collected to confirm the absence of contamination.
These are:
- Brookdale area: High Street, Clear Creek Road, Logan Way, Stanford Way, Western Avenue, Park Avenue, Manzanita Way, Melvin Avenue, Forest Way, Sweetwater Lane.
