Redwood Music Camp
Community Music School of Santa Cruz is offering two days of outdoor music workshops for musicians ages 12 and up. Redwood Music Camp will take place June 18th–19th on the beautiful Monte Vista Christian School campus near Corralitos, offering workshops for players of Celtic, Swedish, and Americana music.
Redwood Music Camp offers 30 workshops for players of fiddle, guitar, harp, Irish flute, penny whistle, concertina, Irish tenor banjo, dulcimer, and mandolin, and for singers. New this year are introductory classes for harp, mountain dulcimer, bodhran, and bones; instruments will be provided. Each day will include three time slots for workshops plus a lunch break, and ending with facilitated sessions (both slow and fast). All but the harp workshops will be held outside in shady locations.
Instructors include both local and Bay Area luminaries in the traditional music world: Adam Hendey, Autumn Rhodes, Bill Coulter, David Brewer, Fox Pettinotti, Neal Hellman, Janet Herman, John Weed, Rebecca Lomnicky, Shelley Phillips, and Verlene Schermer.
