Type of Incident: Erin Fischer arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm
Suspect: Erin Fischer, Age 56, Watsonville
On 05/03/13 at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office arrested 56 year old Erin Fischer of Watsonville after a car stop. Investigators were on their way to serve a search warrant at Fischer’s house and car, when they observed Fischer driving on Highland Rd. in Watsonville. Investigators searched Fischer’s vehicle and found a loaded handgun. Fischer is a convicted felon and has prior arrests for assault with a deadly weapon, possession of firearms and possession of explosives. The Sheriff’s Office received information Fischer was terrorizing his neighborhood and had been seen with firearms. Due to his past history, a search warrant was issued for his residence and car.
After Fischer’s arrest, Investigator served a search warrant at his residence. A rifle and various rounds of ammunition were found. Fischer was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of firearms, a felon in possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle. Fischer bail was increased to $250,000 due to his previous criminal history.
