Goodwill Central Coast has reopened nearly all of its stores and donation sites in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Luis Obispo counties that were closed in March to slow the spread of the contagious coronavirus COVID-19.
The stores have adopted new safety measures, including face masks for employees and sneeze-guards at the cash registers.
“We are closely following the state and county required measures to ensure the safety of our teams and customers,” said Alan C. Martinson, Goodwill Central Coast vice president of retail. “All surfaces and carts will be routinely sanitized. We will be monitoring the stores’ occupancy limits based upon city, state and/or federal guidelines. In the checkout line, special areas have been marked off to follow social distancing rules, and we have temporarily installed transparent barriers at the checkout counter and will offer a touchless payment option.”
Shoppers are asked to wear a face covering to comply with county guidelines.
