July Mahalo Monday Recipient Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music
SANTA CRUZ, CA (June 17th, 2016) – Hula’s Island Grill and Tiki Room, at 221 Cathcart Street in Santa 
Cruz, takes you to the Islands each month with Mahalo Mondays! This lively locals’ restaurant offers a Hawaiian-inspired dining experience, with a tropical menu infused with Asian, Latin and Caribbean touches in an island-style setting.

Dine on any Monday and 10% of the total sales go to a local non-profit! For July 2016, the recipient is the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. The Cabrillo Festival, even at a seasoned 53 years old itself, is all about the new—the here and now of contemporary works for orchestra. During the first two weeks of August each year, audiences are joined by both preeminent and emerging composers, an orchestra of dedicated professional musicians led by famed conductor Marin Alsop, and renowned guest artists from across the globe to give voice to works which are rarely more than a year or two old, and sometimes still wet on the page. The Festival’s atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with free open rehearsals and talks, and music director Marin Alsop is known for “making classical music relevant and real.” To support the Cabrillo Festival, community members andFestival fans are invited to drop by Hula’s each Monday in July to enjoy a taste of the Islands!
