SANTA CRUZ – A ramp paving project near the Fishhook on Highways 1 and 17 will take place next Monday, Nov. 9, Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Thursday, Nov. 12, weather permitting, Caltrans officials announced.
Paving will take occur at two locations:
- Northbound Ocean Street on-ramp to northbound Hwy. 17–#2 (right) lane closure;
- Southbound Hwy. 1 to northbound Hwy. 17 on-ramp—Full ramp closure
- Detour will be southbound Morrissey to northbound Hwy. 1 at Morrissey to northbound Hwy. 17.
Roadwork hours are from 8 am to 4 pm. Motorists can expect a delay of 10-15 minutes.
There will be electronic message signs alerting the public of the roadwork. The CHP will assist with traffic control. Roadwork should be complete by Thursday, Nov. 12.
The purpose of this maintenance project is to increase the lifespan of this section of roadway.
Paving is being done by Caltrans’ Santa Cruz North Maintenance crew.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
