The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission will hold a virtual public hearing Thursday, Dec. 2, to solicit community input on transportation projects proposed for $11 million in state and federal funding. Requests for funding for the RTC projects total $26 million.
The hearing will take place via Community TV Zoom, after a staff presentation and beginning no sooner than 10:30 a.m.
The RTC meeting begins at 9 a.m.
Projects recommended for funds include:
- Road resurfacing/repaving on 11 roads throughout Santa Cruz County
- Sidewalks on Kennedy Road and 41st Avenue Intersection improvements in Capitola
- Pavement, bike, and pedestrian improvements on Chestnut St and Ocean St in Santa Cruz
- Complete streets improvements in downtown Watsonville
- Pedestrian, bicycle, and transit improvements on Soquel Drive/Avenue
- New Santa Cruz METRO CNG bus
- New Lift Line paratransit electric vehicle
- Highway 1 auxiliary lane projects from State Park Drive to Freedom Blvd
- Bike and pedestrian elementary school safety programs
- SLV Schools Access Study in Felton

Projects approved for funds by the RTC will be included in the Transportation Improvement Program.
