Santa Cruz County now has 13 confirmed coronavirus cases, up from 11 on Monday, according to KSBW-TV.
KSBW reported two cases in Monterey County and a coronavirus death in San Benito County, a man with health conditions who had traveled to Thailand.
California Department of Public Health reported 472 cases and 11 deaths Tuesday morning, and Bing’s COVID-19 tracker reported these U.S. statistics: 6,448 cases, 105 deaths, and 17 recoveries.
Worldwide, the Johns Hopkins University dashboard reports 197,133 cases, 7,905 deaths, and 80,854 recoveries. Of the fatalities, more than 3,100 are in China, 2,500 in Italy, 988 in Iran and more than 500 in Spain.
AIDS/LifeCycle, which has brought hundreds of cyclists through Santa Cruz County on Highway 1, has been canceled this year. “It’s the first time we’ve canceled the 545-mile bike journey since it began in 1994,” said spokesman Gil Diaz via email.
