This Halloween tradition couldn’t die — and it didn’t, thanks to Greta Feague, a junior at Scotts Valley High School and organizer of the 2020 Haunted House on campus.
Students at Scotts Valley High School created the first Halloween Haunted House in 2003 with profits going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society but this year’s event, like so many others, was threatened to be shuttered by the contagious coronavirus COVID-19.
Feague wanted to keep the tradition alive, give kids who aren’t trick-or-treating due to safety guidelines — something to do for Halloween.
So this year’s Haunted House is a six-night COVID-safe drive-through event.
More than 100 students helped put the event together, with math teacher Erik Wyner supervising as usual.
Tickets cost $13-$22 per car depending on the night you attend, with all profits going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Tickets are sold online for specific time slots at svhaunt.org/public/tickets.html.
There are still tickets available for a few time slots on the last night, Oct. 31, so don’t wait!
