To support and further the education of students in our community, and through the gift of funds in loving memory of Alice B. Woolsey, former Soquel teacher, the district has established one scholarship of $500.00 to be awarded to a worthy high school graduating senior who was a graduate of New Brighton Middle School.
- Be a graduating senior who was a graduate of New Brighton Middle School
- Submit a completed scholarship application by Friday, May 26, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
- Have acceptance as a full time student at an accredited college or paid upon confirmation of Community College registration before June 30.
Eligible finalists for the scholarship will be selected based on the following criteria (points will be given for each category; max points per category listed):
- Overall GPA (20 pts.)
- Community Service and Leadership (40 pts.)
- Student essay (40 pts.)
Application Process: Applications will be available on the Soquel Union Elementary School District website @ http://www.soqueldo.santacruz.k12.ca.us/community.html and from the high school career centers.
Timeline/Deadline: Complete application and official transcript must be RECEIVED no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017. Applications should be dropped off or mailed to the attention of: Mr. Scott Turnbull, Superintendent Soquel Union Elementary School District 620 Monterey Avenue, Capitola, CA 95010. Forms completed on the computer may be emailed to ljacobs@suesd.org
Selection And Awards Recognition: The scholarship committee will meet to review applications and select award recipients.
