The Santa Cruz County Children’s Network’s Child Abuse Prevention Committee has announced that this winter’s Child Abuse Prevention symposium is “From Chaos to Calm: The Truth in Healing”, presented by Juli Alvarado, MA, LPC, NCC, a renowned trauma-informed specialist and founder of “coaching for LIFE!”. The seminar is taking place on February 28, 2014, 9am-1pm, with a continental breakfast available at8:30am at the Watsonville Civic Plaza Community Rooms, 275 Main Street, Watsonville. In this trauma-informed symposium, Juli Alvarado discusses the truth in healing based on her model of Emotional Regulatory Healing, which integrates current research in neurodevelopment with ancient paradigms for restoring the mind, body and spirit. ERH explores those parallel processes occurring in broader systems that reveal many of the symptoms professionals encounter when working with traumatized children and families. Juli Alvarado has 20 years of experience in child welfare and mental health treatment. Combining the latest research in neuroscientific findings with ancient healing methods, she teaches powerful parenting, therapeutic and organizational paradigms that are transforming individuals, families and entire agencies. She developed Emotional Regulatory Healing for healing individuals, families and organizations. Ms. Alvarado is a therapist and consultant and is well known internationally as an expert in trauma informed care, attachment and bonding. Juli has served on the Board of Directors and as the executive director for several child welfare agencies and is the owner and president of coaching for LIFE!, an organizational consulting business in Denver, Colorado.
This course meets the qualification for 4 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CEUs are provided by the Family Service Agency of the Central Coast (PCE49).
