Highway 1, Soquel Avenue/Drive, and the Santa Cruz Branch Rail Line are parallel transportation routes in Santa Cruz County between downtown Santa Cruz and Freedom Boulevard. These routes can work together as one unified corridor to provide transportation services to Santa Cruz County residents and visitors. Your feedback is requested to coordinate transportation improvements on these three routes.
Share information about your transportation needs on these routes by completing the survey(https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RTC-Unified-Corridor-Survey) or attending the April 16th public workshop. Your input will guide development of the Unified Corridors Plan.
Workshop Details: Thursday, April 16, 6:30pm, Mid County Senior Center, 829 Bay Avenue, Capitola, CA
Using a performance based approach; the Unified Corridors Plan includes prioritizing projects for each of these transportation routes based on the community’s transportation needs, characteristics of each route, ability to advance sustainable transportation goals, and cost of transportation improvements. Unified Corridors Plan- Phase I is underway and includes development of a countywide multimodal transportation model and preparation of performance measures. Transportation modeling tools support a performance based approach to transportation decision making.
