Water is On for Most of Boulder Creek

Do No Drink Order Affects 3,157 Homes

The San Lorenzo Valley Water District reports water service has been restored to Boulder Creek in the wake of the CZU Lightning Complex fire, but 354 homes are without water, with 271 of them in the Big Basin Way/West Park Avenue area.

Because of potential contamination from polyethylene water pipe that melted, a do-not-drink order has been issued to 3,197 homes in the water district.

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, water service was restored to 12 homes in Blackstone Terrace. The water district is distributing bottled water at its operations building, 13057 Highway 9 in Boulder Creek, and has delivered water to customers who could not get into town.

An additional emergency contract has been issued for electric repairs to several sites. The water district has released and posted water quality sampling results and continued with damage assessment on Sept. 3, with staff and consultants assessing the watershed.
