Anthony is taking this “selfie” to show people how darn cute a true wiener can be. He’s in the running for a loving home and promises to be loyal to you always, stay calm and confident under pressure, adapt easily to new situations and remain consistently sweet. He promises to leave scandals and controversy to the real politicians. All puns aside, this truly awesome seven year-old Standard Dachshund is adoptable and waiting for you at the Santa Cruz SPCA. His previous owner passed away, leaving poor Anthony without a home.
Because of his calm and cool demeanor, Anthony the Weiner has become a staff and volunteer favorite. He has attended many fundraising and adoption events and always steals the hearts of everyone he meets because he never fails to behave like a true gentleman. Anthony accepts affection from anyone and is very gentle and respectful when interacting with people, other dogs and even cats.
Anthony is on the larger side of a standard size Dachshund, weighing in at nearly 20 lbs. Although his natural build is larger, he could stand to lose a pound or two as it’s important to keep the weight of this breed under control. If you’re interested in welcoming this wonderful wiener into your world, come meet Anthony at the Santa Cruz SPCA!
