In the Mariners’ third non-league game, Aptos thrashed the host Watsonville Wildcatz 57-0 to win the 44th Black and Blue Bowl Game. The Mariners were relentless in scoring a touchdown on all eight of their possessions while holding Watsonville scoreless. With 48 carries the Mariners’13 ball carriers rattled off 408 yards on the ground while averaging 8.1 yards per carry. Running back Greg Bjur scored twice while Tanner Riggs, Miles Beaudoin, Michael Chavez, Ricardo Medina and Miguel Barranco ran for scores and quarterback Alex Joh, ran for 57 yards.
Aptos 38 – Seaside 17

The Aptos Mariners thwarted the visiting Seaside Spartans football team by a count of 38-17 in Friday’s non-league outing. The Mariners’ ground game finished with more than 350 yards rushing. Three players broke the 100-yard mark; Miles Beaudoin covered 113 yards on 13 carries, CJ Pistorino ended with106 yards on eight carries and Louie Demicell had 101 yards on eight carries.

In this non-league game, the Encinal Jets (Alameda, CA) football team managed to hold off the host Aptos Mariners (Aptos, CA), by a final score of 13-10. A 5-foot-3-inch 115-pound senior by the name of Emily Rentschler made the difference with her 20-yard field goal in the final seconds for the win. Rentschler is in her second year on the varsity squad as the Jets kicker.
The Mainer offence was stymied by their three turnovers. And a stout Encinal defense.
