Ecology Action to Host FREE Electric Vehicle Workshop
SANTA CRUZ, CA—Ecology Action will be hosting a free workshop for Santa Cruz residents interested in learning more about electric vehicles (EVs). The workshop will be held on Thursday June 27 from 5-6:30pm at the Ecology Action office at 877 Cedar St, Santa Cruz.
Ecology Action along with several local electric vehicle (EV) owners will be providing an overview of EVs including the benefits, savings and trends. There are currently a number of rebates and incentives available to make purchasing an EV more affordable. There are also a number of leasing options available, which will all be discussed at the workshop.
Local EV owners will be discussing their experiences to provide help and support to those that are interested to see if an EV could fit their transportation needs and lifestyle. There will be a demonstration area in the Ecology Action parking lot where workshop attendees can take a look at various types of EVs including a Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt and a Smart ED vehicle.
In addition, Enterprise and Hertz will be providing workshop attendees with a $10 discount to rent an EV from their fleet!
The market for electric vehicles is expanding dramatically, providing drivers across the US with more options to save money on gasoline while significantly reducing carbon emissions. According to the City of Santa Cruz’s greenhouse gas inventory some 47% of ghg in the City is generated by transportation’s tailpipe emissions. The goal of this free electric vehicle workshop is to provide information that can help people determine if an electric car can meet their daily driving needs for commute, social, business, and other trips.
