SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Crews will be replacing the bridge joint seals on the Soquel Creek Bridge, located between Bay Ave. and 41stAvenue in Capitola, on Monday, June 16, Caltrans officials have announced.
Overnight roadwork hours are from Monday, June 16 through Friday morning, June 27 from 8:30 pm until 5 am.
The following ramps will need to be closed as needed to perform the overnight work:
- Northbound Hwy 1 on-ramp from Bay Ave.
- Northbound Hwy 1 off-ramp to 41St Ave.
- Southbound Hwy 1 on-ramp from Southbound 41St Ave.
- Southbound Hwy 1 on-ramp from Northbound 41St Ave.
- Southbound Hwy 1 off-ramp to Bay Ave.
There will be electronic message signs alerting motorists, who can expect a delay not to exceed 10 minutes. A detour will be using 41stAvenue, Soquel Drive and Porter Street.
These ramp closures are necessary for Caltrans to replace the joint seals on the Soquel Creek Bridge, which will upgrade the structure.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through
highway work zones.
